"COMING HOME TO CARTERSVILLE" CONCERT AT THE HISTORIC GRAND THEATER NOV 29TH ON SALE NOW!
Today marks the 1yr anniversary of when my Father, Butch Walker, left this place for greener pastures. It comes with a huge hole in my heart but a day that will be full of bittersweet memories and plenty of conversation about this amazing man. it also inspired me to put together a show in his honor in the town he and my mom raised me in. Cartersville, Ga.
When I was a little boy, I still remember my Dad taking me to see King Kong at this beautiful majestic downtown theater called The Grand. Over the years it closed down, then was restored as an actual theater for plays, musicals, etc. I went in there with my mother and the Mayor of Cartersville, Matt Santini, while home last year for my Father’s passing, just to see the place. An overwhelming blast of emotions and memories came flooding my head as I sat in the middle theater seat and just teared up in silence. I looked at my mom and the mayor and said, “someday I want to play a show here”.
Well, here we are. One year later exactly. Saturday the 29th (Thanksgiving weekend), at 8pm. Ages 16 and up only. Just me and a guitar. And a lot of funny stories. Ticket link is https://pw0412ed299.boxpro.net/c83bownet.asp or for Instagram users, click the link in my profile under my picture.
See you all there.
I miss you Big Butch,
